UNEMPLOYED GRADUATE:

An unemployed graduate woke up one morning and checked his pocket. All he had left was $10. He decided to use it to buy food and then wait for death as he was too proud to go begging. He was frustrated as he could find no job, and nobody was ready to help him.

He bought food and as he sat down to eat, an old man and two little children came along and asked him to help them with food as they had not eaten for almost a week. He
looked at them. They were so lean that he could see their bones coming out. Their eyes had gone into the socket. With the last bit of compassion he had, he gave them the food. The old man and children prayed that God would bless and prosper him and then gave him a very old coin. The young graduate said to them ‘you need the prayer more than I do’.

With no money, no job, no food, the young graduate went under the bridge to rest and wait for death. As he was about to sleep, he saw an old newspaper on the ground. He picked it up, and suddenly he saw an advertisement for people with old coins to come to a certain address.

He decided to go there with the old coin the old man gave him. On getting to the place, he gave the proprietor the coin. The proprietor screamed, brought out a big book and showed the young graduate a photograph. This same old coin was worth 3 million dollars. The young graduate was overjoyed as the proprietor gave him a bank draft for 3 million dollars within an hour. He collected the Bank Draft and went in search of the old man and little children.

By the time he got to where he left them eating, they had gone. He asked the owner of the canteen if he knew them. He said no but they left a note for you. He quickly opened the note thinking it would lead him to find them.

This is what the note said: ‘You gave us your all and we have rewarded you back with the coin,’ signed God the Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost. 1 Kings 17:10-16; Matthew 11:28-30

“Awesome Deeds of Righteousness”

In Psalm 65:5 it reads:

You answer us with awesome deeds of righteousness,
       O God our Savior,
the hope of all the ends of the earth
       and of the farthest seas,

I tell my kids that anything that is awesome is of God and that they should be careful to use that word only when referring to something of God.  The reason I teach them this is because any other time using the word awesome will be out of context.  Merriam-Webster defines the word as: expressive of awe, inspiring awe, terrific, extraordinary.  Who can give you these things?  Well God alone is Awesome and deserving of awe.  There is nothing made by the hand of man that He didn’t allow to be made, there is nothing awesome created without Him.  The Bible says that God gives only good gifts.  Now how awesome is that?

1 Praise awaits [a] you, O God, in Zion; to you our vows will be fulfilled.

2 O you who hear prayer, to you all men will come.

3 When we were overwhelmed by sins, you forgave [b] our transgressions.

4 Blessed are those you choose and bring near to live in your courts!
We are filled with the good things of your house, of your holy temple.

5 You answer us with awesome deeds of righteousness, O God our Savior,        the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas, 6 who formed the mountains by your power, having armed yourself with strength,  7 who stilled the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the turmoil of the nations.

8 Those living far away fear your wonders; where morning dawns and evening fades you call forth songs of joy.

9 You care for the land and water it; you enrich it abundantly. The streams of God are filled with water to provide the people with grain, for so you have ordained it. [c]

10 You drench its furrows and level its ridges; you soften it with showers and bless its crops.

11 You crown the year with your bounty, and your carts overflow with abundance.

12 The grasslands of the desert overflow; the hills are clothed with gladness.

13 The meadows are covered with flocks and the valleys are mantled with grain; they shout for joy and sing.

Psalm 65

“You Will Be Ever Hearing But Never Understanding”

You can find this in Isaiah 6, Matthew 13, and in Acts 28.  Is that the world around you?  Always hearing but never understanding, ever seeing but never perceiving.  Are the people around you heart’s calloused to where they hardly hear with their ears and have closed their eyes?  If they would just open their eyes and hear with their ears they would understand with their hearts and turn away from their sin and God would heal them.  Many who call themselves Christian do not hear or see so they are not healed because they think that just because they are present in church and at Bible study that they are covered by the Blood of Christ, but sadly they will waste away into the pits of hell with the rest of the world.  I was called legalistic the other day and a cult leader because of my beliefs.  The only thing I am legalistic about is how we are to be saved through the Blood of Jesus Christ and I am far from being a cult leader because I am a sinner just like everyone else and not worthy of the Grace I receive.  I do not claim to be Christ I do not even claim to be worthy of what I have been given.  I don’t ask for money and I have not told anyone to worship me.  Judge me and you shall be judged in the same manner.  You know who you are but more than that God knows who you are.  Judge not the man by what you read about a man but judge a man by his fruit and you shall be judged the same way.  Is your fruit rotten?

Acts 28

Key Verse:

Acts 28:26
” ‘Go to this people and say, “You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.”
Acts 28:25-27 (in Context) Acts 28 (Whole Chapter)

Matthew 5

38“You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’[g] 39But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.

How many cheeks you got?  Just a thought.

“Take My Coat Also”

There was a man that got off of a train at a seemingly empty train station and a young man came up with a knife and took the other man’s wallet.  As the robber turned and began to walk away the man that was robbed turned and shouted “Hey you forgot something!”  The robber surprised by the comment turned around and ask the man what he had forgotten and the man took off his coat and told the robber he had forgotten the mans coat.  Of course the young man was cold and went over and took the coat and turned to walk away again but stopped and asked the man why he was doing this.  Well he told him that if he was brave enough to give up his freedom for a couple of dollars he would likely be out all night and he needed to stay warm and the fact that he is taking wallets he must have needed the money.  The robber was shocked and stunned by what this man was saying.  Then the man said to the young robber, ” I was just headed to dinner you are more than welcome to join me.” The robber accepted the invitation and went to have dinner with the man.  At the end of the meal the check came and the man said well one of us is going to have to pay this and since you took my wallet I don’t have any money.  Now if you will give it back I will pay for this meal and we can leave.  Without hesitation the young man gave back the wallet and the man paid for the dinner.  On the way out of the restaurant the man gave the would be robber twenty dollars and the coat and they went their separate ways.  Now I don’t know about you but that would not be an easy thing to do but it is written that we shouldn’t resist but to give to those who ask.  If someone forces you to go a mile go two miles.  The same goes here if someone wants your wallet offer them your coat as well.  Who knows you may be the only Jesus they have ever known.

Seen a ghost? Call GhostBusters!  Maybe it isnt a ghost of this world?  Maybe it is the Holy Ghost trying to get a message to you?  Will you listen?  Proclaim Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior three times and if it doesn’t go away you need to listen.  Just a thought.

“My Light”

I had a dream last night that kind of freaked me out.  Even though I knew it had to be a dream I couldn’t wake myself from it and now 3 hours later it is still playing back in my mind as if I were still in the dream.  I was asleep and I was awakened by a banging sound and I saw a dim light under the table.  The light was one of those spot lights that you can wind up to charge the battery.  The light began to move around under the table banging on the sides and top of the table as if it were stuck in a box.  I began to proclaim Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior over and over again hoping the light would stop moving around and banging on the table but it didn’t so I was compelled to go and get the light because it was freaking me out so as I kept proclaiming Christ I got down on the floor and stayed low to the ground and reached out and grabbed the light and I began to crank the crank trying to make the light brighter, while I am still proclaiming Christ it began to get a little brighter and I was feeling some what relieved but all of the sudden the crank froze and I could barely turn it and the light wasn’t any brighter than a 40 watt light bulb but I wanted this thing to be at full power so that I could see everything in the room and I tried and tried but I couldn’t turn the crank anymore and the light never got any brighter, and then I woke up.  Shaking and frightened I was still proclaiming Christ and I began to wonder about this dream and what it means and I began to seek God this morning asking what the dream meant and He has shown me.  The light of the spotlight is the Light that lives in me.  I have sinned against God with my fleshly desires and it has made my Light dim and I cannot make the Light shine brighter because of my sin.  So Lord I repent of my fleshly desires and I ask that You help me control them.  Lord I need You because I cannot do it on my own.  Lord allow me to crank that handle to a million candle watt power so that I can see clearly again the path that leads straight to You.  I ask this in Jesus Name Amen. Amen.

Key Verse:

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

A fool is a fool is a fool is a fool.  When is a fool not a fool anymore?  When they shut up and be obedient.  Just a thought.
