“A Silent Fool Is Considered Wise”

 

I saw this at the bottom of a spam email.  Was this person sending a silent message of warning to stay away from what was being advertised in that email?  Well that is how I took it and deleted it.  I got to thinking about it and the Holy Spirit prompted me to look up the key words silent, fool, and wise and then I hit the “go” button and sure enough there it was Proverbs of course:

 

Proverbs 17:28
Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue.

How often is it we see people in a situation that we know has issues and they are sitting silent not saying a word?  Wisdom is what they would be seen as using and if they continue to sit there and hold their tongue that is discernment.  Basically what is being said here is we are to be quick to listen and slow to speak.  Oh wait that’s here in the Bible somewhere too.

We viewed “Heritage, Civilization and the Jews” part 1 of 9 A People Is Born 3800-586 BCE, yesterday and this morning.  Here is a short synopsis that I got from the web site.

Where and how are we to discover the origins of the Jewish people? Until the 20th century, most people would have replied that one need only open the Bible and read. The modern inquirer, however, has new information available drawn from archaeology and recently discovered ancient Near Eastern literature. These new sources help deepen our understanding of Israelite history as told in the Bible. They help us understand to what extent the early Israelites were a typical Near Eastern people and to what extent they were unique.

The Book of Genesis is set in the Fertile Crescent between 2000 and 1000 B.C.E. It places Israelite origins in Mesopotamia, the “land between” the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. By the 3rd millennium B.C.E., people speaking Semitic languages had settled in this “cradle of civilization,” founding city-states such as Abraham’s birthplace Ur, from whence he set out for Canaan.

We know from recently uncovered sources that Canaanites occasionally fled from famine in their own land and took refuge in Egypt. According to the first chapter of the Book of Exodus, it was during one of these sojourns that the ancestors of the Israelites were enslaved. Later chapters of Exodus show that they regarded their escape from slavery and their subsequent desert wandering as the decisive moments in their collective existence. They bound themselves in a covenant with the invisible God to whom they attributed their deliverance.

After their settlement in Canaan in the 13th century B.C.E., the Israelite tribes went through a period of political and religious disarray until a monarchy was finally established. Under David and Solomon in the 10th century B.C.E., the kingdom became an empire. At its height, it was said to have extended from Sinai to the Euphrates River. Upon Solomon’s death, however, the kingdom split apart. The ten northern tribes formed the kingdom of Israel, while the Davidic dynasty in Jerusalem, supported by the tribe of Judah, continued to rule in the south.

In 722 B.C.E., Assyria, the rising power in Mesopotamia, conquered the northern kingdom and exiled its people. The captives, the so-called “Ten Lost Tribes,” were probably absorbed into the general population. The kingdom of Judah survived until 586 B.C.E., when it fell victim to Nebuchadnezzar, king of the new Mesopotamian empire of Babylonia. Jerusalem and Solomon’s Temple (also known as the First Temple) were destroyed and many Judeans were exiled to Babylonia.

The religion of the Israelites during this period was characterized by prophets and by a Temple cult administered by a hereditary priestly caste. The revolutionary aspects of the religion, however, were also much in evidence: the worship of one God, the rejection of idols, the link between God and ethics, and the certainty that God’s will was evident in the course of history. These beliefs found their fullest expression in the words of the classical prophets.

“Spiritual Dead”

I watch, I read, I talk to, and live among the dead and dieing. Yes we all have to leave one day but I am speaking of the spiritual dead. People who are so wrapped up in their own little existences that they miss the boat; they do not register the reality that is right in front of their noses. I have met men who call themselves ordained ministers that are spiritually dead. They call themselves men of God yet they know not of Him who they say they serve. They grab up that piece of paper at the end of the test and go about their miserable lives of idolatry and lust and never even crack open their Bible again. They are able to marry and bury and counsel yet they use the things of this world to do so. These are nothing more than men of satan and not men of God. I talk to people and listen to people who complain about their lives yet do nothing about their spiritual lives which will rescue them from their idolatry and fleshly desires that kill, steal, and destroy the joy of the Lord. Where is your spiritual walk? Do you even walk in the Spirit? Do you even know how to walk in the Spirit? Did you say a prayer and then go back to doing what it was you were doing? The Spirit of God through relationship with Jesus Christ defeats all idols and all flesh and makes HUGE changes in ones lives. His joy and peace can defeat all the evil that manifests itself in our every day walk with Him. The Spirit, which lives in us, needs to be recognized and nourished and exercised just like our physical body. When’s the last time you took your Spirit for a vigorous walk? Well that’s too long! In my minds eye I see a man pushing a cart yelling “Bring out your dead! Bring out your dead!” I would love nothing more than to put that guy out of business and out of my mind. But I know that I will have to hear his shouts until the day of Christ return so “Come Lord Jesus!”

“Where Do We Go From Here?”

 

We are born into a world of sin.  Where do we go from here?  We are taught right from wrong.  Where do we go from here? We are taught to respect authority.  Where do we go from here?  We are given opportunity to be educated.  Where do we go from here?  We are given a place to earn a living.  Where do we go from here?  We are able to give back.  Where do we go from here?  Through all of this Christ has walked with us.  Where do we go from here?  We ask Him to come in and be our Lord and Savior.  Where do we go from here?  We walk on the path that is laid before us.  Where do we go from here?  We fall off that path.  Where do we go from here?  We seek forgiveness.  Where do we go from here?  We get back on the path.  Where do we go from here?  We find love.  Where do we go from here?  We start a family.  Where do we go from here?  We teach what we are taught.  Where do we go from here?  We get along in age.  Where do we go from here?  We retire from the things that earned a living.  Where do we go from here?  We rest.  Where do we go from here?  We begin again with Jesus in eternity.

“Heritage”

I want to take a moment to share with you an upcoming event on c2C TV.  We have a 9 part series beginning on Wednesday at 6:00 PM CST and encore on Thursday at 6 AM CST.  I can also do an every other Friday at 1PM CST beginning on March 5th, I am sorry but these are the only times I can guarantee this coming on because I am not able to automatically control the TV times like I can the radio station and I will leave them in the rotation so it will continue to play at random times.  The series is called “Heritage, Civilization and the Jews”, and is a powerful message for all who live and breathe on this earth.  If you would like more information and lesson plans on this series the website is: http://www.pbs.org/wnet/heritage/index.html .  I am working on getting commentary from local pastors and rabbis for each of the episodes and this will be something that I continue to build upon as this year progresses.  This series is not just about the Jews but is an important lesson on how our civilization was built and how important our beliefs are, not just for now but also for the future.  We know that we live in the end of days and we must have the knowledge to move forward and in order for us to move forward we must know where we came from and this series will definitely give us the where we came from.  If you are a small group or home church or even school, I recommend you gather for discussion and use these as your weekly Bible study for at least the next 9 weeks.  We will be covering from around 3800 BCE to the 1990s.  This will be review for some but a wake up call for the rest of you.  For information please go to the website and if you have questions please send them to c2C_PRaP@yahoo.com and please put in the subject line Heritage Question.

“Gotta Go Gotta Go Gotta Go Gotta Go!”

 

I don’t think I ever found out where Cheese had to go in that cartoon.  Cheese Louise is an imaginary friend from the cartoon shows Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends and I think Cheese was delivering a prophetic message to Christians around the world.  Time is short and it is time to get up and go, go, go spread the Gospel.  It’s time to start being sure that loved ones know Jesus and it is time for us to go tell our friends about Jesus and it is time for us to go tell the people we meet on the streets about Jesus and our coworkers and their family and their friends, gotta go, gotta go, gotta go.  You need to have excitement in your voice and when someone tries to stop you then give them your best whiney nasally voice , “NNNNOOOOOOOOOO!” just like Cheese did.  This is one of those PRaPs I wish I were with you and reading because Cheese is a funny little character.  The time is now to get that since of urgency and start spreading Christ because time is short and when you take your last breath and when He returns there will be no more time. SOOOOOOOO {deep breath} GOTTA GO GOTTA GO GOTTA GO {fade out as I run down the street with hands in the air}

“How Deep Is Your Love?”

 

Ephesians 3

16I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

So now that we see how deep the love of Christ is and now know what we are to do with that love, how deep is your love?  Is it deep enough to take the gifts of God and serve?  What did you do with that big fat bonus check you got?  What did you do with that tax refund you got?  You just learned how to turn on a computer, what did you do with that gift?  I have a broom and a dustbin I can serve someone by sweeping the walk.  I have a car and wow what a gift this is, will you use it to serve?  How deep is your love?  We live in a time that there are many needs but many of those who need think that they can’t serve in their need.  This is so far off base that they need to do a rethink.  If you lost your job and are in need you need to be serving someone, somewhere, be it in the church or out of the church.  How do you know that God is not going to bless you for your service with a better job than you had because of your serving Him?  If you sit at home and play video games all day you’re surely not putting yourself in a position of blessing.  How deep is your love?  Deep enough to serve in your need?

“His Love, Joy, and Peace”

 

His love and joy and peace are different than what the world thinks it is.  The world thinks along the lines of fleshly love, joy and peace.  To most love is an emotion that can only be relayed through a physical emotional rush of touching, hearing, and seeing of the opposite sex.  Anything else is just lust of the flesh.  Love can be expressed in so many ways it is hard to determine ones love.  The love for food is different from the love of a brother and in the world the love of money is rampant and actually idol worshipping.  The love of a spouse through relationship is as close as you can get here with the Perfect Love of God.  A relationship of a man and a woman in a relationship with Christ can and does show the perfect love of Christ through Him.  Our joy is attached to things of the flesh as well.  People bring us joy through something they have done for us or are doing to us.  Peace is the same way.  But God’s love, joy and peace can only be achieved through relationship with His Son Jesus Christ.  There is no other way to get this Perfection, period. exclamation point.!  Let me repeat that for you.  There is no other way to get this Perfection, period. exclamation point.!  If there is no relationship there is only flesh and the pleasures of the flesh.  The major flaw in that is the flesh can hurt and be made to hurt and the flesh desires flesh over and over again in order to feel satisfied.  The only thing flesh desires is more flesh and flesh will one day die.  Through the relationship that you can have with Christ your Love, Joy and Peace doesn’t require physical flesh touching flesh but faith in knowing you are loved and He will bring you joy in the morning and a peace beyond all understanding and this Love which is Perfect will never die.

“Where’s The Door?”

 

We are to ask, seek, and knock so that the door will be opened.  If I don’t know where the door is I have a problem which can only be resolved by asking and seeking but if I don’t seek there is no need to ask and if I don’t ask I can’t seek and there is no door to knock on.  So where is the door anyway?  This is speaking of the spiritual door to your heart and when that door is opened and you allow Christ to enter He begins an Extreme Home Makeover within YOU!  Oh I love that show!  Once you let Christ in He will begin to tear down all of the old broken down stuff in your life and begin to build a new place for you and just like on the show it will be bigger, better, and stronger than it was before.  Building your new life in Christ upon the Bedrock, which is the best place to build your new place in life because when the storms come, and they will come, your foundation will stand strong and you will not be knocked down.  Oh you may be shaken up but with Christ in you the storms damage will be repaired quickly and it will be minimal.  Ask, seek, and then knock on that door and allow Christ to come in so He can begin His work in you that you will be set free from the bondages of this world and be free to move about without worrying about the future because if you go to the back of the Book and read you will see that WE WIN!  But remember this, in order to be on the winning team you have to repent of your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.  That’s the asking, seeking, and knocking part, once you do that Jesus says He will open the door for you and enter into His peace and love which are perfect.  His love and joy and peace are different than what the world thinks it is and we will talk about that tomorrow.  Stay Tuned God Has A Message For You!

Justice comes when those in Christ who have been persecuted, struggling, forgotten, and left behind are lead out of their poverty and their persecution, no longer struggling and recognized by those who had forgotten them.  Their Hope is in Christ and their victory is assured.  Justice comes when a stranger to one who follows Christ and speaks Christ but doesn’t think anyone is really listening acknowledges Christ.  Justice comes when you take your last breath and you are standing in front of the One you have been serving faithfully for so many years.  We live in an unjust world, a world that is not fair, a world that will stomp on you rather than pick you up.  One day Justice will come and when He does…  Will you be ready?  When Justice comes to repay the unjust and the ones who have hurt His little ones will you be in the crosshairs of His wrath?  When Justice comes will He embrace you for your servanthood to Him?  When Justice comes will you have a witness?  When Justice comes will you be at His right hand or his left?  When Justice comes will you tremble in fear or dance with joy?  Will the tears running down your face be of joy or sorrow?  When Justice comes will you be able to stand knowing you have succeeded or will you fall to your face knowing you have failed?  One day Justice will be here and the only way to the Judge is through Justice that we should be serving.

Father, I believe that Jesus rose from the dead and I ask you right now to come in to my life and be my personal Lord and

Savior. I repent of my Sins and will Worship you all the

day’s of my Life!. Because your word is truth, I confess

with my mouth that I am Born Again and Cleansed

by the Blood of Jesus!   In Jesus Name, Amen.

 

If you said that prayer with an open heart you will one day see Justice and you will be victorious in your trials of life.  Because as you seek Justice and you speak Justice, Justice will seek you and speak of you to the Judge because the only way to the Judge is through Justice.

Isaiah 45:22-24

22 “Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other. 23 By myself I have sworn, my mouth has uttered in all integrity a word that will not be revoked:  Before me every knee will bow; by me every tongue will swear. 24 They will say of me, ‘In the LORD alone are righteousness and strength.’ “  All who have raged against him will come to him and be put to shame.
