“How Do We Get Away From The World?”
Everywhere I turn I see it. Every word I hear I hear it. Every thought I think it is there. Every touch and every smell I feel and taste it. How do we escape? Where can we go just to get away from all of it? To be perfectly honest with you I don’t know of any place here to successfully do this. Since we live here we can’t escape. The only escape for me is to read the Word of God and to pray. Every day I get less and less of the world and more and more into Christ because that is the only safe escape I can find. I have to plug in my headphones and turn the music up to get away from the stuff. The problem is that when I finish I have to go back out into the world and face it head on each and every day. For a Christian that has a Christ centered life and focus on His plans and not that of the world isn’t an easy thing. Once you dedicate yourself to Him is when you begin to change and what you do with that change determines how you will handle life’s ups and downs. Things of this world aren’t going away until the return of Christ so we must stay focused upon Him and where He leads us in the day-to-day interaction with the world. Continuing to share His Truth and loving, as He loves is going to be the only escape.
Lord forgive me for asking why and not asking what. Lord what is it I can do for You today to bring another soul home to Your Son Jesus Christ and increase Your Kingdom? Lord, continue to give me the strength each and every day that I have to be here to glorify Your Name and the Name of Your Son Jesus Christ. Father I am weak in my flesh and the worldly desires that tempt me each and every day. Father I need You in Jesus Name Amen.
I used I and me so that the prayer that you spoke would be for you that it be personalized for you because I know I am not alone in this even when I feel that way.
